Elevator Pitch

Imagine you get onto an elevator on the 1st floor going to the 60th floor of a building, and right before the doors close, the biggest executive at the most popular TV/Film studio hops on with you. It’s just the two of you and you will never have this opportunity to have their captive attention again.

You have to take your opportunity so you take this time to pitch your project and you only have until those doors ding open on their floor to make an impression. Are you nervous? Are your palms sweating? They should be! This is what people refer to when they say elevator pitch.

Your elevator pitch is not your full pitch, this is just a taste to get people interested in your project to get your foot in the door for your full pitch. They will for sure want to get to know more information once they hear your great idea!

These are just some tips to get you ready before submitting your finished project. You can read more about this and other topics on how to improve your your film or screenplay pitch in our E-Book, the Pitching Best Practices Guide, also included in our newest release, the Annual Submission Pass Membership!
