Standing with Kevin: How You Can Help

by Apr 3, 2025Festival news0 comments

Cinema Life has always been about community, and right now, someone who’s been a big part of ours needs support.

Kevin Saunders has been a filmmaker, actor, and friend to our festivals for years. He’s brought incredible stories to our screens and supported fellow filmmakers every step of the way. Now, as he faces a leukemia diagnosis, we want to come together to support him.

A GoFundMe has been set up to help Kevin with medical expenses, and if you’re able to contribute, we encourage you to donate directly. Every donation, big or small, makes an impact.

To further support Kevin, we’re also donating 50% of all Film Pitch ATL ticket sales this month to his fund. If you’re planning to attend, your ticket will help contribute.

About Kevin Saunders

A Maryland native, Kevin’s journey into acting and filmmaking began over a decade ago. With a background in theater, performing in plays like Sweeney Todd and Rumors, he developed a deep passion for storytelling. Inspired by childhood favorites like Jurassic Park and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles II: The Secret of the Ooze, he later gravitated toward powerful films such as Saving Private Ryan, Prisoners, and Blood Diamond.

Kevin’s talent has led him to appear in major productions, including Atlanta, Cobra Kai, and Marvel’s The Falcon and the Winter Soldier. But beyond acting, his love for storytelling has driven him to work behind the camera as well, producing and directing projects that reflect his creative vision.

Kevin’s Latest Work: Sorrows of Yesterday

Kevin’s passion for storytelling has always been at the heart of his work, both in front of and behind the camera. His latest film, Sorrows of Yesterday, showcases his talent as both a writer and co-director.

🎬 Sorrows of Yesterday (2024) – Written by Kevin Saunders, Co-Directed with Phil Stevens
A man struggling with past regrets gets an unexpected visitor who reminds him of a valuable lesson: every decision—good or bad—has consequences.

If you can’t donate, sharing Kevin’s story and spreading the word is just as valuable. If you can, please donate, or attend Film Pitch ATL to help in any way possible.

Thank you for being part of this incredible filmmaking community.
