Before you start anything, you have to know your story and how to tell it. What is the hook? Who are the main characters? How do they work together? Why are they there? Why does this story need to be told and why right now?

It may seem like you shouldn’t give away any surprises, but this is not a viewing audience, this is an audience that is potentially paying for your project and making sure it is told.
